More filming

This weekend Tim was holding another party which we all saw great opportunity in capturing more footage of a teenage party. it was better to have too much footage of this scene so we could pick the best bits out.
Tim then came to college showing us what he has achieved over the weekend. We then downloaded this onto the computer and started editing the footage so far to keep our time keeping in control.
The only last bits of footage that we had to capture were the scene of Rachel and I having drinks at hers before the party Saturday. This was planned to be held at Rachel’s house on the oncoming Saturday. We were shooting shots of getting ready, applying make-up, showing outfits and the first effects of the drinks.
However due to an unexpected situation on the weekend we didn’t manage to capture any of this. This then meant we had to wait another week for the weekend as it was not possible to capture after college with the inconveniences of Rachel living in Salisbury and me living in Totton. By the time we would arrive at her house in a college night, it would be pitch black. This majorly affected our scheduling and time keeping again.

To not waste any time in this project, in our lessons during the week Rachel and I attempted to capture as much footage as possible in the college grounds that we could. For example getting unchanged and dressed showing the changing of clothing and the beginning of an event. The applying of the makeup we also shot in the college toilets. This was all footage we needed it just wasn’t shot were we had originally planned.
At this time Tim was playing around with the footage on the computer and doing some individual research on his ancillary tasks.

ATM Filming

In our soap trailer we planned a scene having a conversation about plans for that night. We planned for Tim and I to bump into each other at the shop, including key features of a Tim smoking a cigarette which is a stereotype of teenage youths, collecting money from the ATM.
We filmed this footage the next lesson which was held the following Thursday. This was the point where our footage started to come together and we began to capture certain parts of the shots on Adobe Premier, sorting them into useable clips.

Filming

Over the weekend we managed to capture some individual filming which we organised and planned as a group. Filming as a group together, it became a regular issue that we couldn’t arrange time off that would work out the same time as each other due to situations such as work, plans, and family issues.
Our individual filming consisted of Tim capturing clips of playing the decks, a typical teenage house party involving the effects of drinking and drugs. From reflecting back on earlier research watching soap trailers such as skins and shameless it was clear to included an important scene like this, including the stereotype of the gender and age were advertising to.

We returned back to college Monday and captured our footage onto the computer, having the advantage of a 2hour lesson we also had the time to travel to my house to film the footage of the planned conversation between Rachel and I about the night after the party. This was another key scene for our opera because it’s including a typical girl’s talk about boys. This was completed in that afternoon and we also captured this. Overall it was a successful weekend and Monday for seeing our first step in filming, having the first footage and making a start on editing.
